November Favourites

No I'm not dead! I have just had a very stressful month so I am looking forward to the best time of the year... so here is my round-up for this month!
TXMaxx - £2.99
Winter means all things Gingerbread as far as I am concerned. That apparently now includes Gingerbread handwash. This may be a really granny thing to do but I definitely judge people on the products they keep on offer in their bathrooms and as we have a revolving door in December I saw this and got a little bit over excited.

'Jumping Juniper Sampoo Bar' - £5.75 '
Breath of Fresh Air' Toner -£4.25
'Grease Lightning' -£6.40
My skin has been hating me since the weather has become cooler so I ran into Lush screaming and this is what I came out with. I picked up the 'Breath of Fresh Air' Toner which I find so much more convenient as you just spray and then you can get on with your day instead of trying to find cotton pads then wiping greasy residue off your face after. Grouped with the 'Grease Lightning' treatment it has really helped to clean up my skin.
The last one is the weirdest products ever. But I do not think I will actually go back to the real thing. This weird purple disk is actually a shampoo bar, my friend Laura recommended it to me, so I bought it and tried it out and I can declare that I am in love! It lathers up so well and gives my hair body and shine AND you get so many washes out of it. I have used this 6 times and it hasn't decreased in size at all.

'Lilac Skies' -£5.00
Colour Drama in 'Nude Perfection' - £4.99
During the winter it seems wrong to have bright blonde hair so I have been combating this by using Bleach London 'Violet Skies' hair wash. On light hair this would make hair lilac but on my hair it does the same job as a toner and makes a ashy/blonde/brown tone.
The Maybelline Colour Drama lip pencil in 'Nude Perfection'. Think 90's better than natural nude/Kylie Jenner lip obsessive nude.

'Life After Life' by Kate Atkinson is my favourite book of the month. It is all about the idea of reincarnation. Taking place during the first through to the second world war, Starting with the first chapter which a baby dies in birth but in the next it lives. This continues with the main character drowning, being crushed by buildings, falling off roofs, dying of illness etc. These are all then followed by flip chapters where a small incident will change the ending of that situation. This book is really very clever and really makes you think about the 'what ifs'.  It is also a great book for winter and the majority has a really cold and chilling feel.

Let me know of any of your favourites this month!
And please brace for all things Christmas coming your way.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

If you are not a lover of excessive Christmas build up look away now...

I recently visited the Manchester Christmas markets with my chummy Laura. And due to the fairy lights, food, and stalls, I of course had to share it with you all.

' Me Before You' Review..

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

'Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.

Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desires to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now, and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.

What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.'

This was in my collection of books I kind of purchased on a whim, just after seeing it on every book shelf. But this is really a very well written book. The emotional attachments made to the characters are absolutely heart wrenching.

The book covers a lot of hard subjects such as adultery, disability, euthanasia and unwanted relationships, I completely ate up every word as I became so involved in every emotion the characters were feeling. The balance of the bubbly and colourful Lou opposed to the troubled and cutting Will makes for a heart warming read. I must add however this is not for the faint hearted as the final chapters even melted my icy heart, any seasoned John Green, David Nicholls or Jodi Picoult will understand my pain!

Hello All! This month has been so hectic I haven't had chance to collect any new products at all so I thought I would just share some of my all time favourites for Autumn, which I have been obsessed with recently. However I think we all know the star of this collection is definitely the Sparkly Pumpkin from Lush which was part of their Halloween Collection. Sadly meaning we all have to wait another year for them to come back in (or if your like me you manged to stock up).
